A Rockin' First Birthday

She was turning one and I couldn’t wait to celebrate it. I wanted to give my little lady a birthday bash with all the works. Decorations, food, cake and entertainment. I wanted coordinating decorations to make it all look, you know, cute. I wanted a cake to match and I knew we needed music. She loves to hear songs, from commercial jingles to Dean Martin to Bruno Mars and even gangham style. She is already to rock it.

First Birthday

After a couple weeks of planning the day had arrived and it was literally 30 minutes before our backyard extravaganza when the rain came pouring down. I don’t mean rain drop, but an actual torrential downpour. I quickly sent texts to all the guests and our entertainment to push it 30 minutes. Ugh, I was so aggravated cause I had the tablescapes planned out, the decorations ready to go and know it the backyard looked like a rainforest.

Eventually, the guest began to arrive and we quickly put up a canopy and they all pitched in to help me put the tables together. I was said to see all my ideas for tablescapes go out the door but it was one of those moments that you just had to let it go.

Everyone was so understanding and helpful BUT the icing on the cake was our great entertainment. Super Stolie!!!! Oh my was she a lifesaver. I found her name on the Facebook Page – North Shore Moms. I didn’t know how great she would be!! She arrived and created a makeshift backdrop in my garage and was ready to rock it for my one year old. I had kids from 1-12 years old at the party and somehow she managed to keep them all entertained!!!

First Birthday

As a adults, don’t we look forward to headed to a street feast or a local block party, especially knowing if there will be a band there. We hover towards the stage and either have our head bopping to the sounds or are feeling confident and just stand in front of the stage with our friends and dance the night away. Well, apparently, kids love it too. Having Super Stolie create a mini Coachella in our backyard was amazing and memorable to watch! If you need a birthday theme idea, go for the music!
