Blue Front Door Colors

April 29, 2016 Client Projects, Design Ideas, Interiors, Paint

This past week I got one of my dream interior design clients. So, they are nice and all but that is not what makes it my dream client. They are in the final stages of building their dream home, and you won’t believe it, but it’s my dream home too!
It’s not a full blown Modern American Farmhouse but a Modern Rustic Family house, truly can’t get better than that.
So, on the list of to-do’s
1. Exterior colors including Blue Front Door Colors
2. Interior colors
3. Interior flooring
4.  All fixtures
5. Window treatments

With the exterior siding and black shutters getting installed we needed to select the perfect front door color.

With the exterior siding and black shutters getting installed we needed to select the perfect front door color. I narrowed it down to my top three picks. Now, you can’t go wrong with a weathered walnut. I love how it looks in this Michigan home. Against the white backdrop it makes the updated “new” home feel loved and lived in.

BUT, the home above is in Michigan and not part of a row of homes. My clients home does not stand alone, in other words, it is on a beautifully tree-lined street with homes barely 3 yards apart. So, I wanted the home to stick out, to be a unique. You know, when you have someone coming over and you text them, “yeah, where the white house with the ‘blue/yellow/red/’ door.” You never hear someone say “we are the house with the walnut door color.”

I didn’t want to go with red because it has been done, for years! Also, there are other red doors close by. For that reason I knew we should go in a different direction but not to feminine.
My first pick is Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore

Or my second favorite gray-blue is Monteplier by Benjamin Moore

Okay, lets see what they will pick. Stay tuned.
