I have been asked many questions about my kitchen renovation but one popular inquiry is about my kitchen banquette lighting. I knew I wanted a Hudson Valley light. The previous kitchen banquette lighting was also Hudson Valley and after 15 years I truly believe the quality and timeless fashion lasted. But with the new style of the kitchen, I decided to update the look with a new fixture too.

Kitchen Banquette Lighting

I did mull over a few different kitchen banquette lights before finally deciding on my true love, the Glendale Do you see a pattern? Yup, I knew I wanted black metal with true brass accents. I also did not want it to be a solid light fixture. In other words, I wanted something I could see “through” into the yard and not block any natural light.

Kitchen Banquette Lighting

I love the fixture! I actually wanted two. I was planning on placing the exact same one in my entryway. It would have been in the same line of vision and I thought it would look great having the same lights passing through the long corridor. Sadly my ceilings are too low (100-year-old house problems) and I couldn’t even hang the smallest version of the Glendale. Trust me it was hard to send the second one back.

The solid metal is perfect. I hate when you order a fixture online and they truly feel like plastic. Just bad quality. That doesn’t happen EVER with Hudson Valley. You know you are getting quality. The brass is gorgeous and is the perfect hue. Not too yellow. It is also real and not those painted on brass fixtures. Another pet-peeve.

Now, off to change out all the other light fixtures in my home 😉

    It combines perfect with your whole decoration. Nice color finishing and shape for the table, eventhough I am not fan of exposed bulbs.
