When we bought our home there were no shelves for anything! If you know me, you know I have stuff. Stuff I have collected through the years, from estate sale finds, to great grandma’s house, or simply, it somehow ended up in my home. So I always had a dream of Styling Built-in Bookshelves in my own home.
One of the first things I did when we moved in was have built-in shelving custom made. If we were to ever move, this would be the first thing I would do in all my houses. Also, when it comes to staging other homes, I always spend time re-arranging their built-ins. SO many people just place their “stuff” on shelves, but then it doesn’t draw the attention it deserves or appeal to those passing by.

Part of my design philosophy is having our home tell our story. Everything in it has meaning or means something to us. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t come in.
