Best Rug Pads

January 26, 2017 Design Ideas, Interiors, My Home

This is not a joke! No, seriously, the post title says it all. We need rug pads. Okay, so this is coming from someone who literally has never used a rug pad in my own personal home. Why? Because I just didn’t want to pay for it. NOW, that doesn’t mean my clients don’t have rug pads. Eek. I know, I make them buy one yet I don’t for my own home. Anywaaay, RugsPadsUSAsent me a little holiday gift to try. I had asked for a rather larger size knowing I would, if I liked it, use in a couple different places, foyer and kitchen. Why the foyer and kitchen???

Now, first, don’t worry, I know I am not alone here when I am hesitant to bring in rug products with harsh chemicals or smells. Less toxins the better. Umm, no worry, the cloud comfort memory foam contributes to LEED credits and is made with natural minerals resulting in very low VOC content! so with that comfort (no pun intended) I was more than excited to put it in my home.

When someone steps into a home I want it to feel comfortable. Like literally feel the softness under their feet, cause I think it gives everyone a good sense of home. Today many households, including mine, when it snows or rains, we expect guest to remove their shoes. I mean, don’t be tracking that nasty gray snow into my house. So, with boots thrown off, they step until lusciousness.

Why kitchen? Well, that is more for selfish reasons. I spend way too much time in this place. I mean my gosh, what mommy doesn’t think about a  meal plan. And I don’t mean “oh, what should I have for lunch?” I mean, what will I cook for dinner in 48 hours for now. Meal planning and prep has become my initial after thought. You know, you about it constantly. No pressure, I only four other human beings to feed and depend on meals, seems only fair I lose sleep over it. LOL. Some times I jolt out of bed and think, “ah!! Do I have enough in the pantry to scrounge up a decent meal today?”

So, yeah, I wanted a microfoam pad in my kitchen too, under my feet, to give me, solely me, comfort.  With that I added the microfoam pad and I thought,

“Don’t overreact, it’s just the first step, hold one, wait. It can’t really feel this good.”
Well, I waited. I also didn’t tell the kids and they passed by stepping on the rugs. I am not joking, it LITERALLY stopped them in their tracks and they said, “whoa, that feels…soft.” A few days later my littlest stops and says, “wow, mommy, that’s nice.” As she bends down onto all fours and hugs the area rug. True, true story.
With that said, don’t wait. Don’t be as tight as I was and not get your rugs microfoam pads. I literally want it for all the LARGE area rugs I have in my home, living, dining and master bedroom. I mean, it’s only a total of 350sq. feet of memory foam. Wink wink.

Rug pads are a must when you have a rug. They slip and slide all over the place without them!

What a cool rug pad. It most certainly looks comfy. I just have one of those thin ones to help it from slipping. I certainly could use a new rug too.

This seems great. I have three large area rugs in my home and all tile floors. This seems like it would be perfect under them to give some more padding!

I am so checking out this rug pad because I always walk barefoot in my home and adore that feeling of softness on the carpets. But – hard to get all the time. Especially in the kitchen. You are making my day with this resource, girl!

I've never even thought to use a rug pad before. I could see how this would be helpful for both the cushioning but also to keep the rug in place

That's so funny she hugged the rug!! Haha so cute. I can see this being really great for pets because if your pets are like mine they sometimes lay out of their beds, well most times, and lay on the floor or rugs haha.

I don't think I've used a rug pad. Probably because I grew up in a place where we had carpet. But since then when I've purchases rugs, I always look for ones that are comfortable. It wasn't until I purchased a memory foam rug for the bathroom did I see what I was missing. Not i understand why I need a pad under all my rugs.

This is so useful to read! I didn't even realise rug pads were a thing but it makes total sense! We are getting a rug this weekend – I'm so excited, I've already been picking & choosing online – might pick up one of these to go with it! xx
