T.J. Maxxinista: Gold Sphere

September 23, 2014 DIY, Lifestyle

So, I have noticed a Gold Sphere are making their ways to tabletops and I wanted one too. Something round, something simple, to add a little decor to your coffee table or book case. The thing is, I didn’t like any one sphere specifically, but I did like something about each of them.

What I did like:
Large size
Gold color
West Elm has the Sculptural Spheres in large and gold for $99. Now, I wasn’t going to pay $99 for a gold sphere. That is the total cost of my Peeled Juice Cleanse Groupon I just got (and by the way, executing this cleanse with vigor). Anyhoo, I also wasn’t going to spend $99 when I wasn’t totally in love with it. I just don’t like the rough styled aluminum look.

Gold Sphere

West Elm // Large Sculptural Sphere in Gold // $99

I also found this sphere by Step & Lizzie. I like the texture and the size but I wasn’t found of the finish. The space I want to put this in needed something with a little more shazam.
Step & Lizzie // Sphere Sculpture // $120
I was on the hunt for my perfect sphere. I wasn’t out specifically looking for one but I always kept my eyes open. Well, last week I stopped into T.J. Maxx in need of some fun powder room paper napkins. You know, for the guests to dry their hands. Well, of course I didn’t find any napkins I liked, but I found a SPHERE SCULPTURE!!!!
Now, it wasn’t perfect but, it was pretty darn close. It was large, it was smooth in texture, and it was only $16 on clearance. A win win win. BUT, it wasn’t gold.
Of course we all now that that would be an easy fix. Nothing a little metallic gold spray paint couldn’t fix.
