How To Start E-Home Staging Business

May 11, 2020 Staging

During these unprecedented times, Covid-19, I got on my Youtube Channel a few weeks ago to share how to start E-Home Staging business. Or, I should say, I shared what I do and use to run my e-home staging business. I have had e-design for a few years and I was able to tweak it when it came to Home Staging.

I wanted to share the main points from each video plus a link to a few documents and programs I use to run my e- home staging. But, I do go into more detail in the two-part video series.

How To Start E-Home Staging Business

  1. Request Client to Fill out Client Profile / Questionnaire
    • Once it is completed and returned with photos of the home, room by room, is when I actually begin working offsite on their report.
    • Photos are submitted in a designated client folder via Dropbox.
  2. Create a Home Staging Report: You can use mine as an example: Home Staging Report
    • Details On The Home Staging Report
  3. Reports do include Floorplan. I use Icovia 2020. It is simple and easy to use. You can use my promo code when signing up 7a461218013578a22d
    • I love that it is not a downloaded software through the internet so I can access it anywhere.
    • Remember, the report will include 2-floor plans. If they need more floor plans, it is an additional cost.
  4. Reports also include Moodbooards. I use DesignFiles and love it for a few reasons.
    • Easy to use, web-based so I can access anywhere, but the best part…
    • I can email clients the moodboard directly from Design files and they can click and purchase everything directly, from light fixtures to rugs, bathroom towels to even paint online. This means I can insert affiliates/design links so you can make additional income via commission rates.
  5. Paint List: Always it’s own document that includes two samples per room so the client can sample in person
  6. Once Everything is submitted I answer questions via email. But if they need more consulting, I charge my hourly rate at 20minute increments. I track my hours and invoice through Freshbooks.
    • I love Freshbooks, I use it for all my clients, time tracking, invoicing etc.
